Deputy Attorney General, OAG, State General Counsel Division - PUC Position Summary: The Office of the Attorney General invites applications for the Deputy Attorney General, OAG, State General Counsel Division - PUC role at the State of Idaho. Salary: Starting at $90,000, depends on experience (DOE). The Office qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). Partial telecommuting is also available. Primary Duties Represent PUC staff in utility rate cases and other litigated administrative proceedings. Prepare pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents. Coordinate the presentation of PUC staff’s case. Prepare post‑hearing decision memoranda, opinions, orders, and notices for the PUC. Review and draft contracts, rules, policies; advise on employment matters, public records law, and open‑meeting law issues. Advise on other legal issues arising at the PUC. Minimum Qualifications Active Idaho State Bar license. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineers, accountants, utility analysts, economists, and opposing counsel. Knowledge of utility regulation may be acquired on‑the‑job. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with government practice, administrative law, appellate court practices, economics, finance, accounting, and antitrust are beneficial.
