The WJB Dorn Columbia, SC, Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Critical Care Intensivist to join our dynamic team. As a Critical Care Intensivist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to critically ill patients in our intensive care units. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our Nation’s Veterans and their families.
Benefits:
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program up to $200k.
Pay: Up to $400k p/year, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting, VA contributes 16.6% to pension ) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: up to $1000 p/year
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

The Columbia VA Health Care System is a tertiary care teaching hospital providing the highest-level quality complex care with services ranging from cardio-thoracic and neurosurgery to primary and mental health care. We have a transplant program, surgical robotics unit, and medical research program for approximately 80,000 Veterans across South Carolina. This health care system includes a full range of inpatient and outpatient care, medical and surgical intensive care. Here at the VA, we don’t treat patients, we serve our nations Veterans. Dorn VAMC is affiliated with the University of South Carolina (USC) School of Medicine and provides teaching services for students and residents. USC is the state's flagship research university with Schools of Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, and an active Graduate School.
