Job Title: E4B Structures Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking Structures Mechanics to support multiple programs in San Antonio, TX, including E4B & C17. The selected candidates will maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing aircraft components such as flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. You will apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition or operation. Additionally, you will interpret technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to solve moderate to complex problems.
Hard Skills
  • 4+ years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience
  • Close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures
  • Knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and replacement of parts
  • Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair
  • Proficiency in using aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements
  • Ability to access and manipulate computer systems for work instructions, drawings, and training
  • Use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts
  • Knowledge of non-complex electrical systems functionality
  • Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-type electric powered elevating equipment
Soft Skills
  • Ability to lead teams through complex tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workload to maintain schedules
  • Capability to provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians
  • Effective communication skills in English (read, write, comprehend)

This is a contract position with a duration of 9 Month(s).
Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Antonio, Texas.
Work Environment

Candidates must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and may be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work environment includes exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms, and using personal protective gear. Physical requirements include ascending and descending vertical work ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting loads of approximately 35 pounds, and performing tasks such as reaching overhead, walking, standing, balancing on ladders or uneven surfaces, and occasional climbing. Candidates must also pass visual acuity and color perception tests and handle hazardous materials. The position is non-managerial and non-leadership.
