Overview Responsibilities Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Monitor, document, and communicate project status to stakeholders. Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects. Adapt project roles based on project size and type, often acting as lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager; may include project management tasks. Collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines to complete tasks on time and within budget. Preferred Qualifications BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine, and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Experience with power consulting or EPC firms is desirable. 10+ years of experience in the fossil power industry with design and owner’s engineer projects. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and strong communication/analytical skills. Willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Ability to work within an established schedule and budget. Travel expected to be less than 10% for client/vendor meetings and site visits. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional Engineers (PE) license (or provincial equivalent). Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples: PLS-CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
