Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr NR Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) for an opportunity in Honolulu, Hawaii – Hybrid Position Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) Anticipated Start Date: 12/29/2025. Salary Range: $130k - $180k/annum plus benefits Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to serve as a discipline lead across multiple building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to drive high-quality MEP design solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design efforts for MEP projects across commercial, healthcare, education, transportation, hospitality, retail, and other building sectors. Provide engineering oversight for mechanical drawings, sketches, analyses, specifications, and calculations. Lead and mentor mechanical design teams, ensuring quality and technical excellence. Support construction administration activities, including site observations and coordination with project stakeholders. Deliver exceptional service to internal teams and external partners. Assist in expanding business opportunities with both new and existing clients. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME). 10+ years of experience in MEP design or consulting. Proven team leadership and management experience. Strong project management background within the MEP environment. Experience in healthcare building design and HCAI compliance. Strong client-facing skills with a proactive, high-energy approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comprehensive understanding of building codes. Strong knowledge of mechanical building systems and design principles. Preferred Qualifications 10–15 years of progressive experience in commercial A/E engineering roles. Advanced expertise in HVAC systems for healthcare, educational, and commercial facilities. Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
