Job Description
Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region's only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

Comprehensive Urgent Care at this clinic provides diagnosis and treatment of non-life threatening illness and injury for adults, adolescents, children, and infants. This Ward Clinic features Team Based Primary Care led by Internal Medicine and Family Practice providers to consistently manage the overall health care needs for patients of all ages. On-site, walk-in, laboratory and X-ray imaging bring sophisticated diagnostic services to this area. Supported by the most advanced electronic medical record system the clinic's team leverages the MyChart patient portal which engages patients to connect with their doctor and care team, manage their health, optimize their appointments, and help family member track their health.
As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that Straub patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance at Straub. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff, and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients' medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC.
