UofL Health Jewish Hospital and South Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider.

Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider (APP) must be able to diagnose and treat patients who present with emergent and acute symptoms as well as perform needed procedures. Must be skilled at education and proficient at teaching patients and family members. Emergency department APPs will work with physicians  to provide  patient care. The APP will also work alone in the fast track. The need for complex and critical thinking is required. Position is shift work and scheduling flexibility required.

What To Expect:

  • Work collaboratively with physicians to assess needs of patient
  • Order, interpret and record test results
  • Diagnose and treat critically ill patients
  • Able to make recommendations and consult when needed
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick important clinical decisions
  • Excellent management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to be a good team player and work with faculty, residents, and nursing.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be able to manage patients with higher level of acuity

Experience:

Previous experience in emergency medicine.

Licensure:

Kentucky license, PA or NP (required)
