Overview Break Time Store Managers oversee the performance of an assigned Break Time Convenience Store. Responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating employees and a keen focus on customer service and store sales. Store Managers are energetic leaders who believe it only takes a moment to make your day better. Responsibilities Working with customers— Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and encouraging the store team to do the same; consistently and courteously greet and thank each customer and provide fast and friendly customer service; actively support peak hours; handle complaints quickly and courteously; conduct accurate and efficient transactions. Day-to-day store operations— Oversees all aspects of store operation including daily reporting, banking, inventory, bookkeeping, and fuel management; ensures the facility and all equipment and property are well maintained; maintains store cleanliness; ensures timely open/close and observation of all scheduled hours of operation; executes food programs including promoting food service and safety. Merchandising and sales— Ensures proper execution of marketing programs; works with management to identify opportunities to increase sales; performs all merchandising activities including proper pricing, promotion implementation, suggestive selling, vendor check‑in, and keeping all merchandise stocked, clean, fronted, and faced (including the cooler). Supervising— Oversees general operations of assigned store; supervises store employees including scheduling and organizing work; provides clear direction; trains, develops and motivates employees; enforces company policies and safety requirements; monitors productivity; conducts performance evaluations and resolves conflict in a timely manner; reviews and approves employee time entry, ensuring correct clocking procedures. Financial responsibility— Understands and manages store finances and profitability; controls shortages and other expenses; prepares for and participates in audits, investigates results and plans for improvement; meets or exceeds company goals for sales and controllable expenses; performs loss control functions related to cash handling, lottery sales, redemptions, food waste, employee purchases, merchandise sales, etc.; remains alert and reports concerns. Teamwork— Recruits, trains, coaches, and develops a successful team of associates; exhibits professionalism; creates a positive work culture, promoting teamwork to drive performance; leads the team to adhere to all local, state and federal regulations concerning all facets of job responsibilities and duties, and store operations. Working with technology— Utilizes the store’s technology; performs mathematical calculations to make change, completes shift reports, counts product; follows scheduling template. All Break Time employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position‑specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Prior management/leadership experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent. 18 years of age or older. Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays. Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank (vehicle must be locked and secured when transporting the deposit to the bank). Thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Works well individually and in leading a team. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check‑in. Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Ability and willingness to occasionally ascend and descend ladders to handle inventory or products. Ability to perform these duties and others as assigned, with accuracy, and with minimal supervision. Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler with temperatures as low as 30 °F for up to one hour, and to move and position products in the freezer with temperatures as low as 0 °F. Physical ability to both move and position yourself to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 50 lb. Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety concerns. Ability to remain in a standing position for up to nine hours per shift. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre‑employment background check and drug test. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree.
