Position Summary

Employee is assigned to the Guest Experience Department and reports to the Guest Experience Manager. Primary responsibilities will be to supervise and support Guest Experience Staff in their job duties, assist in any and all areas needed, troubleshoot problems, answer questions, and engage and assist guests/staff in an efficient and professional manner.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.00. 

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

Lexington is an active and thriving market that is craving an active and welcoming venue for events. The heart of any thriving community is its downtown—and Lexington Center and the historic Rupp Arena are truly the heart of downtown Lexington and one of the most widely-recognized entertainment venues in North America. Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky is fast becoming THE must play venue.  The 20,000-seat arena, affectionately referred to by some as “the Cathedral of College Basketball” is home to the National Champion University of Kentucky men’s basketball program and has played host to some of the most talented and award-winning musicians/artists in the world including U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, and many others. 

Central Bank Center is our convention side, with over 99k sf of exhibition space, 24k sf each of meeting and ball room space, 50k of hospitality space, 10k sf of flexible space, and over 2500 covered and uncovered parking spaces. Both venues are additionally joined in entertaining this area by the Lexington Opera House, showcasing Broadway talent through collaborative bookings of Broadway shows, small venue concerts, and local arts.

Responsibilities
  • Assist as needed with setup and breakdown of the event.
  • Assist as needed with briefing of events to regular part time staff.
  • Act as a role model for the regular part time Guest Experience staff maintaining a high level of professionalism and excellent customer service skills at all time.
  • Support regular part time staff by confirming expectations and job responsibilities at start of shift, and frequent check ins with all staff in your designated area.
  • Assist and support fellow supervisors, maintaining important communications with one another throughout event.
  • Organize and implement breaks for all part time Guest Experience staff.
  • Answer all radio calls requesting Guest Experience Supervisor.
  • Assist with problem solving of escalated guest issues.
  • Assist with post briefing of event to the Guest Experience Coordinator and/or Manger.
Qualifications Must have a general knowledge of public assembly operations. Must have 1+ years’ experience ushering in a stadium/arena setting. High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Must be extremely adaptable. Must demonstrate the ability to work well under high stress and exercise good judgment, diplomacy, courtesy and tact under all circumstances. Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights, weekends and holidays when required. Must be comfortable with heights and loud noises.
