DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a County Casework Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of five Protective Services caseworkers and one unit aide, who are responsible for providing a wide variety of services to children and families including: case management, casework advocacy, foster care services, counseling of children and families within the home conjointly with the private providers, and through the utilization of the "strength-based" modality. This unit provides ongoing services to families to address child safety issues and reduce risk to the children. You will have the opportunity to serve as a liaison to other community agencies and systems to provide recommendations regarding service delivery gaps, linkage problems, and communication deficiencies. Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

  • Managing and directing casework staff in both in-home and out-of-home safety assessment and planning
  • Approving all Family Service Plans, guiding and participating in court related matters, reviewing all cases in the unit for regulatory compliance, as well as reviewing caseworker job performance and assessing training needs
  • Participating in supervisory certification and maintaining post certification training hours of 20 annually
  • Recommending personnel actions, developing agency policies and procedures, presenting and participating in critical case reviews, attending weekly supervisor meetings, and approving time cards in the Kronos system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
