The Department of Community Standards and Student Conduct has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director Community Standards & Student Conduct to join their team. * Offer ongoing guidance and assistance to conduct officers across 16 colleges/schools, ensuring consistent application of the Student Code of Conduct and adherence to institutional policies.* Assist in the management of conduct cases that span multiple colleges/schools, ensuring thorough investigations and equitable resolutions.* Develop and deliver training programs for college/school conduct officers, enhancing their skills in case adjudication, policy interpretation, and effective sanctioning.* Remain informed of best practices in student conduct and student affairs. Remain up to date on the knowledge of laws and policies that affect the practice of student conduct administration. Share regularly with other members of the team.* Serve as a liaison to key campus partners—including Residential Life, Learning Technologies (Canvas), and other academic technology teams—to support information-sharing, incident resolution, and coordinated responses.* Collaborate with the Office of Civil Rights, Title IX, and Title VI to ensure alignment in handling intersecting cases and to support trauma-informed, equity-centered conduct practices.* Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to campus-wide training and educational initiatives that support student accountability, conflict resolution, and community standards.* Represent the CSSC office in campus committees and working groups to advocate for consistent, student-centered conduct processes across academic and administrative units.* Master’s Degree in Higher Education/Student Development/Counseling or equivalent.* 3 to 5 years of experience adjudicating student conduct either through Residence Life experience or a University conduct process.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.* Knowledge of student development theory and ability to translate theory to practice in a conduct setting.* Demonstrated leadership and facilitation of teams.* Responsibilities for supervising full time staff.* Five years of work in a university-level conduct office as a hearing officer, experience working with faculty and staff, and ability to navigate complex systems.* Experience coordinating Symplicity’s Advocate case management system.* Knowledge of behavioral intervention teams, training in Clery and Title IX.### BenefitsThere are many perks to working for the University of Washington.
