Job DetailsJob LocationSun Hydraulics 1500 - Sarasota, FLDescriptionJob Summary:The Plant Controller will be responsible for leading the operational accounting and finance functions for the Helios Hydraulics of Americas (HHAM) Sarasota location. This includes inventory and cost accounting, sales margin analysis, operational budgets, and related month-end close accounting activity. The successful Plant Controller will, in accordance with GAAP and management reporting needs, ensure delivery of accurate historical and forward-looking financial information for management decisions and support internal and external audits. This position will report to the Managing Director of Sarasota Operations (SRQ). Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct supervisory responsibility of cost accounting departmentCommitment to attracting, developing, and mentoring finance staff to build their professional career and maximize potential.Duties/Responsibilities:Provide insight and analysis regarding factors influencing material margin and contribution margin, as well as gross margin and operating margin of the Sarasota operationCollaborate with stakeholders across the business and provide analysis, reports, and presentations and to ensure efficient information and decision-making analysisProvide analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational results for the manufacturing operations within SRQ and various operational cost poolsResponsible for supporting the SRQ leadership Team in delivering business results, providing analytical & financial insights, driving budget and forecast & management reporting processes, analysis, and standardizationPerform robust financial analysis and be able to succinctly outline and present key drivers, themes and key risks while applying business and financial acumen to explain underlying drivers of results across several scenariosActively maintain current tools / models and introduce new tools/models, processes and improve analysis used for executive financial deliverablesActive participant and teammate to SRQ Leadership Team counterparts, promoting best practices and collaborationCollaborate with internal and external audit resources supporting financial and SOX audits within the Sarasota operations, including management's internal control documentation and testingMonitor financial activities to ensure compliance with all regulations and generally accepted accounting principlesAssist in establishing and monitoring financial goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the SRQ operationMotivate teams to produce quality deliverables within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projectsOther special projects and responsibilities as neededQualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skillsImpeccable analytical and organizational skillsSelf-motivated and self-directedAbility to work closely with a senior management teamEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field8+ years proven accounting experience in manufacturingWorking knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)3+ years' experience in an accounting supervisory roleStrong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysisWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reportingPhysical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods of timeTravel Requirements: This position may require travel domestically which should be less than 10% of total time during the course of a year
