The Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Highway Heavy Grading Foreman to oversee and manage grading operations on our construction projects. The Highway Heavy Grading Foreman will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of grading tasks, maintaining productivity, and promoting a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy grading operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate and supervise a team. Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and coordinate grading activities on construction projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines. Lead and supervise a team of equipment operators and laborers, providing guidance, training, and support to maximize productivity and efficiency. Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand grading requirements and ensure accurate execution. Operate heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, graders, and scrapers, as needed to complete grading tasks or fill in for operators. Monitor the progress of grading operations, identifying any issues or challenges, and implementing corrective actions. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and addressing any repairs or servicing needs promptly. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of grading activities. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all team members. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, materials, and labor hours for reporting and cost control purposes. Participate in meetings and provide input on project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to heavy grading operations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certifications in heavy equipment operation or construction management is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy grading operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role. In-depth knowledge of grading techniques, equipment, and materials used in heavy highway construction projects. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively direct and motivate a team. Proficient in operating heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, graders, and scrapers. Familiarity with construction plans, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to adapt to changing project needs. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to heavy construction activities. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Full-Time – Non-Exempt Pay Range: $40-$50/hr based on skills and experience.
