About Us: Embark Behavioral Health operates a residential treatment facility in Bend, Oregon, specializing in helping adolescents aged 10-14 struggling with behavioral health issues. Our program fosters a supportive community environment where interpersonal relationships are fostered and encouraged.
Job Description: As an LPN or RN, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional medical care, administering medications, conducting health assessments, and providing patient support. Enjoy the flexibility of part-time work, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Our family-friendly shift hours enable you to cherish moments with loved ones while pursuing a fulfilling nursing career. As the weekend nurse, you will be responsible for tending to the general medical needs of our clients and managing medical emergencies with compassion and expertise.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive medical care for students, including addressing medical emergencies and general medical needs.
Respond promptly to reports of pain or illness, conducting thorough assessments of students to determine the appropriate course of action.
Accompany students to medical appointments and effectively communicate findings to parents and residential staff.
Regularly check and record vital signs and student weights as assigned.
Dispense student medications accurately and maintain records in the Medication Administration Record.
Conduct thorough counting and tracking of narcotics during each shift.
Monitor students' mood, behavior, and affect, documenting findings, especially during medication initiation.
Coordinate lab draws for students as needed.
Effectively communicate relevant medical information to the Treatment Team and Psychiatrist, verbally or in writing.
Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards in all patient-related matter
Complete all activities required to maintain an active and valid nursing license in the State of Oregon
Qualifications:
Licensed as an RN/LPN in Oregon
Current driver's license and a clean driving record
Ability to pass background checks
Strong teamwork and autonomy skills
Excellent communication abilities for conveying medical information to students, parents, and colleagues
Openness to professional and clinical feedback
Commitment to providing culturally competent services and continuous training and development
Proficiency in medical terminology, techniques, legal charting procedures, and medication administration
Skill in using nursing tools and equipment (e.g., needles, thermometers, diagnostic tests, stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs, etc.)
Competence in assessing students' physical conditions
Familiarity with word processing software and network navigation
Ability to check and record vital sign
Experience working with adolescents is not required, but it is a plus
