Posted Friday, March 28, 2025 at 4:00 AMOnce you complete your application you must inform your current manager.Scope of PositionThe Lead Engineer is a hands-on and administrative role responsible for the effective management and repair of all engineering-related equipment and maintenance operations within the hotel. The Lead Engineer is responsible for staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards. This position also provides oversight into the daily operation of the engineering department, contractors, or other vendors doing business for the Engineering Department under the direction of the Director of Engineering.Schedule RequirementsThe operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all exempt team members may be required to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. Working more than eight hours per day and more than five consecutive days as needed is an essential job function for all exempt roles. Travel may be required and may include some overnight stays. All exempt team members should be responsible for scheduling their time off.Key ResponsibilitiesTime allocation for hands-on performing repairs or preventive maintenance activities and performing and leading in administrative rolesEnsure full compliance with local regulationsPerform daily inspections around the hotelDiagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotelEnsure good relationships are built with internal and external customersMaintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and act when any unsafe situations arisePerform special projects and other responsibilities as assignedMonitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering DepartmentMonitor Engineering Team Member related activitiesSupervise day-to-day engineering department operations and associated team membersDefine and delegate work assignments to all disciplinesMaintain equipment inventory and purchasing systemsOversee Preventative Maintenance programRepresent the hotel with a positive attitude and professional attireFollow sustainability guidelines and practices related to Seaport’s sustainability programsCarry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the roleResponsible for practicing, managing, and promoting our Mission and Values so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.Required Job Knowledge and SkillsSkilled and knowledgeable in building tradesSolid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasksSafely perform highly complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, and refrigeration - ensuring all methods, materials, and practices meet company standards and Local and National codes - with little or no supervisionDisplay advanced knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programsExperienced with the operation of auto motion systems, fire alarms, and other building electronic systems (i.e., BMS, Lighting Controls, CMMS, Life Safety Monitoring & Alarm)Knowledgeable in reading and understanding plans and specificationsMust be familiar with all Massachusetts plumbing, electrical, and HVAC codesProficient, at an advanced level, with computers and relevant computer programsCommitted to delivering a high level of customer serviceStrong leadership skills and previous experience of supervising or managing a teamFlexibility to respond to a range of different work situationsAbility to work under pressureAbility to work on their ownQualificationsExperience:2 years Supervisor/Lead Experience (Hotel experience preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office products (including Microsoft Project Manager)Competent in at least one skilled trade (i.e., Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, or HVAC-R)Education:High School diploma, general education degree, or international equivalent requiredLanguage Skills:Fluency in the English language is required (read, write, speak)Must be able to listen to, read, and/or write instructions, memos, short correspondences, and messages #J-18808-Ljbffr
