Responsibilities Accountable for performing day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and positive patient experience; serves as a full‑time certified pharmacy technician. Operates pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under a pharmacist’s supervision, supervises pharmacy technicians and cashiers within company policies, laws, regulations and business ethics. Responsible for selecting, scheduling, and developing pharmacy technician personnel. Leads training, coaching, and performance management, including discipline and termination decisions. Engages customers by greeting and assisting with products and services, resolving complaints, and answering non‑clinical questions to ensure a positive experience. Assists pharmacist with patient care such as registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, counting, verifying (where allowed by law), and carrying out healthcare services like vaccines and screenings. Delegates, directs, and assigns non‑clinical work, ensuring tasks are completed on time and maintaining efficient workflow. Prepares and files reports and records required by the company and government agencies. Manages core pharmacy workflow, coordinates daily schedule, recommends pharmacy hour allocation, and ensures the pharmacy is clean, orderly, and stocked. Ensures compliance with all administrative activities and inventory management tasks; manages annual inventory preparation. Drives technology/process roll‑outs, champions change, and engages the team around action planning; oversees equipment operation and maintenance. Maintains and applies knowledge of company asset‑protection techniques, supports diversion monitoring, and reports concerns that compromise security. Communicates prescription errors to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies on errors and quality improvement. Accurately processes insurance claims, resolves customer issues, and participates in third‑party audits. Supports Store and Pharmacy Manager in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service. Manages community outreach portals and coordinates pharmacist assignments to off‑site immunization clinics and community events. People & Performance Management Leads performance management of technicians, including discipline decisions and compliance with state and federal laws. Handles technician hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and attendance accountability. Identifies knowledge gaps and provides training to close them. Monitors licensure, registration, and certification status, using Walgreens resources for verification. Ensures proper recruitment, record‑retention, and training procedures per company policy and law. Training & Personal Development Maintains PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification/registration. Enhances knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare. Obtains required certifications, education credits, and training such as LTMP e‑modules. Seeks professional development, solicits feedback, and uses a mentor/coach. Communication Communicates with pharmacy team and relays messages from the support center or key emails. Participates in key store/pharmacy meetings, including 5‑minute and weekly check‑ins with the Store Manager. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting. Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy or Health System Pharmacy locations). Preferred Qualifications Previous people‑management/leadership experience. Previous work experience with Walgreens and an Exceeding Expectation performance evaluation.
