Position Summary Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic adjunct faculty member to teach in our HVAC day program. This adjunct position reports directly to the program chair and involves teaching a 9‑month training program covering basic electrical and safety, basic and commercial refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning. Key Responsibilities Teach during class hours from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Thursday on a hybrid schedule. Be available to meet with students as needed. Use course texts, outlines, and other curriculum materials in accordance with college and department policies; deviations from the syllabus must be approved by the department chair. Respond promptly to chair and administrative requests and attend meetings when possible. Respond to students in a timely manner and evaluate student achievement, providing timely feedback while maintaining accurate records in the CANVAS LMS. Participate in university and department communications, including the Dropout Detective warning system to alert advisors when students falter. Demonstrate effective teaching through preparation, meeting course goals, organization and presentation of material, student involvement, and classroom management. Collaborate with other college departments (academic, student affairs, enrollment, development) to further student recruitment, retention, and success. All employees, including faculty, are expected to advocate for students and contribute to institution‑wide efforts to improve graduation, retention, and career placement. Qualifications At least three years of experience in the HVAC field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized, motivated, and results‑driven. Prior teaching experience preferred. Clean background check. Type of Appointment Adjunct appointment to teach day courses four days a week, beginning immediately, with renewal anticipated for the following semester upon satisfactory performance.
