Liquor Store Manager Manages the daily operations of the liquor department, increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. Job Summary To lead the liquor department in a dynamic retail environment, maintain merchandising standards, cash control, staff training, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Essential Responsibilities SERVICE: 60% – Create a welcoming environment, ensure merchandising per plan, train associates, offer assistance in product selection. LEADERSHIP: 20% – Promote teamwork, set goals, manage schedules, adhere to laws and company policies. FINANCIAL: 10% – Complete administrative tasks, monitor cash control, manage inventory accuracy and reporting. COMPLIANCE/Safety: 10% – Maintain safety standards, comply with USDA and other regulations, manage recalls, train on PPE, report incidents. Other: Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 21 years of age. Authorization to work in the United States. Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check. Strong customer service, interpersonal, motivational and communication skills. Basic math ability and ability to handle stressful situations. Proficient with computer applications used for operating the department. 0‑3 years of supervisory experience preferred. English proficiency required; Spanish preferred. Education High School / GED. No further education required. Experience 0‑3 years supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of liquor, wines, and beer preferred. Environmental Factors Retail‑general heavy. Requires standing, walking, lifting up to 250 lbs, working in indoor/outdoor conditions, and handling hazardous equipment. Safety risk factors include slipping, twisting, exposure to noise, chemicals, and sharp objects. Shift(s) Varied shifts.
