Job Summary

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the breakfast service as well as providing high standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer service. In addition, this individual shall be well-versed on hotel-brand standards, guest expectations and local area. This position reports to the General Manager.

Your day-to-day

The Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities for this position make up your day-to-day. They include the following tasks below. This is not designed to be a comprehensive list. All other tasks must be performed as assigned or required.

  1. Essential Functions
    • Warmly and professionally welcomes all guests to the breakfast area.
    • Consistently provide friendly and attentive service to guests during breakfast hours.
    • Ensure a welcoming and clean environment in the breakfast area.
    • Maintain proper set-up of dining area. Clear, clean, and set tables as guests leave.
    • Set up and replenish the breakfast buffet in an appealing and organized manner.
    • Clean and sanitize all equipment, tables, and surfaces in the kitchen and dining areas.
    • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors in kitchen and dining area.
    • Ensure all food orders are put and stored in proper places with proper dating.
    • Clean out all refrigerators and reach-in coolers daily; label, date and rotate items.
  2. Job Responsibilities
    • Engage with guests in a courteous and helpful manner, addressing any inquiries and ensuring their needs are met.
    • Seek feedback from guests to identify areas for improvement and relay compliments to the team.
    • Graciously respond to guest concerns or requests. If necessary, report the situation to the manager.
    • Monitor and maintain food quality, ensuring that all items meet or exceed established standards.
    • Preparation of food according to brand standards and ensuring temperatures of hot and cold items according to health code regulations.
    • Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation practices in food handling, preparation, and service.
    • Regularly clean and sanitize all serving areas, utensils, and equipment to meet health and safety standards.
    • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, housekeeping, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address challenges and share insights.

Performance Metrics

Performance will be assessed based on the following:

  • Understanding and timely completion of essential functions & job responsibilities and their impact on the organization.

  • Communicating effectively and fostering positive relationships with all other colleagues.
  • Attending work on time as scheduled and adhering to attendance policy.
  • Understanding and following processes and procedures for documentation and communication of important information.
  • Guest Service Scores regarding Breakfast and Overall F&B Experience.

Qualifications

  • Have or be capable of obtaining Food Handling certification or other certification requirements.
  • Must be available to work early morning shifts.
  • Must be available to work on weekends & holidays.
