Account Manager I / II – Microbial Consumer Care Charles River Laboratories invites candidates to apply for the Account Manager I / II – Microbial Consumer Care role. Job Summary The Account Manager I / II is responsible for achieving quarterly and annual Celsis and Accugenix sales targets for the assigned region. The role works closely with management and cross‑functional teams to develop new microbial business. It is a remote position managing consumer accounts within North America and requires regional travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with internal teams (SPS, PM, Management, etc.) to increase market share and revenue at assigned accounts. Generate account‑specific sales strategies to sell company products and services under the direction of management. Prepare and provide accurate account forecasts for assigned territories when required. Develop and qualify account leads through frequent customer contact and prospecting. Conduct regular business review meetings to assess challenges and gather intelligence on reagent usage. Use customer input from Field Customer Support to identify cross‑selling/upselling opportunities and competitive activities. Monitor key metrics (service usage, complaints) to intervene before dissatisfaction escalates. Build relationships with customers to influence the acceptance and use of company products and services. Communicate available products and services and inform customers of new offerings in a timely manner. Utilize CRM (SFDC) to capture customer information, maintain accurate pipelines, and document opportunities. Work closely with specialist sales staff to ensure a cohesive and responsive team throughout the sales process. Maintain knowledge of competitor profiles and develop positioning to influence potential customers. Consistently achieve all revenue targets. Sell Celsis and Accugenix products and services proficiently. Complete all required sales documentation in a timely manner. Participate in sales meetings and trade shows as required. Share customer problems/concerns with appropriate departments for quality resolution. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Prepare and implement a comprehensive territory management plan, indicating target opportunities and expansion of existing accounts, with competitor analysis. Participate in and provide feedback to internal Pilot teams. Lead customer and internal webinars/trainings. Lead sales meeting sessions and presentations. Participate in internal development programs (e.g., mentoring, brand knowledge, marketing, key account management, sales leadership). Participate in internal beta testing applications, if applicable. Coordinate events within the territory to generate new leads and opportunities. Complete Challenger Sales Training and apply it effectively to sales strategy and communication. Job Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, sales, or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum 5 years of sales experience (AM II) in life science or consumer industry; or experience with Celsis, RMMs, and/or Microbial Identifications if no sales experience. A suitable combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute. Frequent domestic travel required. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficient in standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email). Compensation The pay range for this position is $85,000 – $120,000 USD. The actual salary may vary within this range based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
