Facilities Janitor

Job description

A Facilities Janitor is responsible for the upkeep of the facility by performing various functions such as general plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, and painting to name a few. The following details are not definitive and subject to change based on organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting current facility staff with projects in various locations.
  • Clean and maintain common areas of the facility including break rooms, restrooms, stores and warehouse.
  • Cleaning includes dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, painting etc.
  • Maintain and perform routine inspections.
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Work with other departments when instructed.
  • Perform other maintenance duties as requested.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of hazardous risks with cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Strong work ethics is a great team player.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and follow procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Experience using dollies, pallet jacks and forklifts.
Physical Demands
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, sitting, constant movements of hands to operate tools/machines.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)


Work Environment

Work is performed indoors outdoors with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, and movements of machine/equipment.

Salary Expectations

Minimum starting rate of $18 an hour.

Starting rate based on experience.
