FX Operations Specialist

Overview:

The Foreign Exchange Operations Specialist will be responsible for managing all processes related to foreign exchange (FX) transaction handling and settlement. This includes overseeing end-to-end transaction processing, confirmations, reconciliations, risk and credit reporting, investigations, and problem resolution. The role requires active communication with Correspondent Banks for nostro accounts and settlements, as well as involvement in the implementation of new projects/systems and ongoing process improvements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong capacity to document procedures and collaborate effectively within a team in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Execute and settle all FX transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conduct confirmations and reconciliations of transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies through thorough investigations.
  • Manage credit and risk reporting for FX transactions.
  • Maintain communication with Correspondent Banks for nostro account and settlement-related matters.
  • Participate in and support the implementation of new projects/systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document procedures comprehensively and maintain organized records.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, traders, service partners, clients, and other support areas including technology, systems, and wire operations.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 1+ year of experience with FX transactions or a background in financial operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand FX products and their impact on the client and bank.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with traders, counterparts, service partners, and clients.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience in financial systems or operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of the foreign exchange market and its impact on clients.
  • Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Access, and Word.
