*Job Title: Freights Coordinator/Break Down Specialist*

*Location: Richmond, VA 23224*

*Duration: 6 Months*

*Work days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday*
*Shift: 8:00 PM - 06:30 AM EST (40 Hrs/Week)*

Job Description:
* The Break Down Specialist/Driver manager handles freight delays and assists drivers due to equipment failure, inclement weather, accidents, hazardous material (i.e., hazmat) spills, and road closures.
* He/she maintains internal communications to report the status of drivers, freight, and equipment.
* This position coordinates repairs of physical assets, controls costs, and manages vendor relationships.
* He/she facilitates driver compensation due to delays and administers distribution and reimbursement of related expenses (e.g., tolls, overweight fines, repair costs, etc.).
* The Break Down Specialist works with various internal groups (e.g., Safety, Fleet Services, etc.) to ensure quality control and safety measures.
* Note: No lifting or loading. Its office job, typing the patch information and sending over through the apps. They will be liaison between driver and customers. Truck load/dispatching experience.

Job Duties
* Coordinates Accident Management and Reporting.
* Gathers accident information from drivers to determine accident severity, evaluate equipment damage, and develop action plans.
* Serves as a liaison to minimize operational disruptions, ensure proper accident management, serve employees wellbeing, and minimize risk exposure.
* Notifies management and the Safety department of accidents to minimize costs and risk exposure.
* Secures resources (e.g., nearest operational terminal, local fire department, police, insurance adjuster, towing company, etc.) to clear accident scenes and to facilitate freight delivery.
* Determines need for drug and alcohol testing of drivers to mitigate risks and to comply with corporate policies.

Handles Hazmat Issues and Incidents
* Assists Operations with trailer hazmat labelling (i.e., placarding) requirements to ensure accuracy and to avoid regulatory infractions, penalties, and fines.
* Analyses hazmat leaks and spills occurring during freight transports to understand the severity, implement proper responses, and meet regulatory requirements.
* Coordinates the handling of hazmat incidents to ensure proper handling, avoid risks, and protect Clients interests (e.g., employees, assets, customers property, etc.).
* Maintains the hazmat data and records database to track activities and to support investigations.
* Addresses trailer placarding with state weigh stations to avoid fines and freight delivery delays.

Provides Driver Support
* Addresses driver needs related to in-route delays to ensure timely freight delivery.
* Acts as an intermediary to facilitate communication between Operations, dispatchers, and drivers.
* Provides fuel payment options for drivers to minimize freight transportation delays.
* Communicates weather and road conditions and secures lodging accommodations to promote safety, minimize risks, and mitigate delivery delays.

Coordinates Vendor Management and Invoicing for Repairs
* Maintains vendor information to ensure accurate data and to minimize cost and equipment down time.
* Reviews and approves vendor invoices for repairs to ensure accuracy, facilitate expeditious payments, and support vendor relations.
* Serves as a primary point of contact for repair vendors to communicate repair needs.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:
