Job Purpose And Summary As a DSP, you play a critical role in supporting the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy and pharmacy team throughout the district. You will cover pharmacist scheduling gaps and act as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts. Responsibilities Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC) and overseeing the pharmacy as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation. Coaching the pharmacy team to provide compassionate care, collaborate with patients’ healthcare teams, and proactively resolve insurance and/or medication issues. Offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy and supporting Pharmacy Technicians in learning how to immunize. Managing pharmacy inventory effectively, with a focus on protecting cold‑chain products. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintaining relevant clinical and technical skills and seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients. Delivering pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible and empowering the pharmacy team to provide holistic care.> Understanding and complying with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles and complying with CVS Health policies and procedures to support patient safety. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks over time, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription accuracy. Customer service and team orientation: look for ways to help people, respond appropriately to patient reactions. Communication skills: use verbal and written communication effectively and listen actively. Mathematical reasoning: calculate days' supply and medication quantities accurately. Problem resolution: choose appropriate courses of action in challenging interactions. Physical demands: daily standing, lifting up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger use, and the ability to perform tasks requiring precision and coordination. Perform any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications 1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Pay Range $60.00 – $74.00 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary). The actual offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This position is eligible for a bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
