District Support Pharmacist FT CVS Health is looking for a dedicated District Support Pharmacist (DSP) to support our retail pharmacy network across the district. As an DSP you will fill pharmacy scheduling gaps, oversee day‑to‑day operations, and serve as a role model for our pharmacy teams. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator; act as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts when no overlap exists. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Provide empathy and genuine care to patients and coach the pharmacy team to do the same, collaborating with the patient’s total health care team and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations; support Pharmacy Technicians in learning immunization skills. Manage pharmacy inventory, including a focus on protecting cold‑chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including required trainings and CMEs, and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge. Coach the team to provide holistic care, test and prescribe when permissible, and support access to care. Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, CME, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy and security. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Attention and Focus: Concentrate on a task over a period of time. Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner. Notice and understand patient reactions and respond appropriately. Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues. Utilize active listening, ask questions, and avoid interrupting when appropriate. Mathematical Reasoning: Use math to solve dosage and inventory problems (e.g., determining the total number of tablets or bottles for a prescription). Problem Resolution: Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action among available options. Physical Demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lolve, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; stretch; extend arms; maintain precision with machines. Perform tasks requiring repetitive finger movements and small‑part visual inspection. Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently; exert negligible force to move objects. Exchange ideas orally where detailed spoken instructions are needed. Receive detailed information through oral communication. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $60.00–$74.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range.
