Overview Mainframe DB2 Systems Programmer. 16+ years of experience managing and maintaining DB2 databases on IBM System Z mainframes. Responsibilities Leads the adoption or implementation of advanced technology or platform. Expert on the functionality or usage of a particular system, platform, or technology product. Serves as a consultant to clients, guiding the efficient use or adoption of a particular IT product or platform. Creates implementation, testing, and/or integration plans. Demonstrates expertise in a particular IT platform or service, allowing for maximum IT investment. Plans, designs, and implements standards, naming conventions, and ongoing deployment of a multi‑data center DB2 environment, including disaster recovery, high availability, and data center relocation projects. Installs, supports, and rolls out DB2 components, BMC Tools and Utilities, and related products. Provides technical support to application and data center staff. Provides project leadership in support of data center projects and strategic initiatives. Maintains excellent communication and presentation skills. Qualifications Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience. Training or certification in required product or IT platform/service. Extensive experience with installation, support, and roll‑out of DB2 components, BMC Tools and Utilities. Complete familiarity with z/OS, TSO/ISPF and IBM utilities. Experience with SMP/E, Sysplex environments, and DB2 integration with WLM. Experience with Oracle, SQL, z/VM, Linux, MVS systems, BMC Main View monitoring tool (desired). 16+ years leading advanced technology projects or service projects. 16+ years full system engineering lifecycle. 16+ years creating implementation/integration plans, test plans, and training materials (desired). 16+ years hands‑on experience in specific product or IT platform. Industry certification/training in specific IT product/platform or service (nice to have). Background Check Extensive criminal history background check will be required. Only candidates without recent histories (past seven years) of driving, drug, robbery, or other illegal activity will be considered.
