HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORLayton Services is a commercial, industrial, and residential excavation contractor that has been family-owned and operated in Central Ohio for 30 years. Our services primarily include earthwork, site development (mass excavation, building pads, sub-grade prep), and underground utilities (water main, fire line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and detention systems). Our office is in Newark, Ohio with a majority of work in Columbus, Licking County, and surrounding area.*Typical Range is $25/HR - $30/HR *Summary of Role: Responsible for efficiently operating one or many types of construction equipment to excavate, move, grade dirt, raise structures, etc. Type of equipment includes: graders, bulldozers, track-hoes, back-hoes, skid-steers, rollers, scrapers, compressors, pumps, shovels, tractors, front-end loaders. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Safely operate construction equipment.Knowledge and understanding of hand and arm signals.Basic understanding of equipment abilities and limitations.Basic understanding of how a job site operates.Follow all safety regulations.Education and/or Experience:2+ years of construction/ sitework experience.Ability to be productive while operating one major piece of heavy equipment used for sitework. 10-Hour OSHA Certification in Construction (can be obtained once hired). 1-Hour Certification for Excavations (can be obtained once hired).High School Diploma preferred.A positive "Teamwork" mindset + the willingness to learn.
