Executive Director of Operations Location: South Florida (Hollywood Area) Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Compensation: $225,000–$275,000 annually (Salaried; no bonus structure) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Travel: Required throughout South Florida; flexibility needed for emergencies Overview AppleOne is partnering with a leading city / municipality in South Florida seeking an accomplished Executive Director of Operations to lead multi-division operations and drive strategic execution across a diverse portfolio of public-facing business entities. This executive will play a critical role in shaping operational direction, strengthening efficiency, enhancing business performance, and ensuring alignment between departments and leadership. This individual will work closely with senior management to translate organizational goals into actionable strategies, overseeing day-to-day operations, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring that high-quality services and business outcomes are consistently delivered. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Organizational Alignment Develop and execute operational strategies that support organizational goals and long-term growth. Partner with senior leadership to define vision, performance expectations, and operational priorities. Translate high-level strategy into measurable, actionable plans across multiple business units. Implement performance management systems, KPIs, and annual operations plans. Operational Oversight & Performance Management Provide executive oversight of various public-service and commercial divisions within the municipality. Monitor operations for efficiency, compliance, customer service, and financial performance. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance service delivery. Ensure timely and accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and consistent operational standards. Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and mentor division directors, managers, and operational teams. Build a collaborative culture focused on accountability, service excellence, and professional development. Strengthen interdepartmental communication and workflow alignment across multiple business units. Compliance, Governance & Stakeholder Engagement Ensure adherence to municipal regulations, administrative policies, and operational standards. Partner with internal stakeholders, leadership boards, and community representatives as required. Provide executive-level updates, operational insights, and strategic recommendations. Travel & Availability Travel regularly throughout South Florida to multiple locations within the municipality's service network. Maintain flexibility to support operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies. Qualifications Education Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field required Bachelor's degree may be considered with exceptional experience Experience 10+ years of senior management experience overseeing complex, multi-unit operations 10+ years leading for-profit or public-sector commercial operations, service divisions, or enterprise-level departments Experience managing large teams, budgets, and multi-site operational performance Demonstrated success improving efficiency, implementing strategy, and elevating organizational results Skills & Competencies Strong strategic planning, operational leadership, and decision-making skills Exceptional communication and presentation abilities Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a high-demand environment Strong analytical, financial, and organizational capabilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Valid Florida driver's license; ability to travel frequently Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal Executive Director of Operations is a forward-thinking, hands-on leader with the ability to manage diverse operational units, strengthen organizational performance, and drive strategic initiatives.
