Projects assigned are typically top priority, high profile, and multi-departmental initiatives for the organization and thus require continuous communication and interaction with department leadership. The Sr. Associate will manage all aspects of project planning, tracking, and status reporting for various strategic initiatives, programs, and tasks. Within the Newbuilding and innovation team, you will have the opportunity to develop problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, among others, in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Royal Caribbean Group's Newbuilding Strategy team is looking for a driven, self-starter with the ability to develop data-driven, actionable insights for our senior executives. Ideal fit will be an individual with outstanding communication skills, intellectual curiosity, strong working knowledge of corporate finance, and advanced analytical skills.ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Support key strategic initiatives within the department to enable our short-term priorities, long term goals, and annual objectives.Develops strategic insights based on internal and external data and business analysis, including but not limited to analysis of markets, customers, and businesses.Manages the analysis of complex data, with strong experience in gathering actionable insights.Builds and develops presentation decks and visualizations in PowerPoint, Power BI, or related tools which clearly communicate the team’s findings and potential impact on the business.Communicates with different departments and senior leaders across the company in order to develop new insights and work cross-functionally to help drive projects forward.Gathers and distills competitive information and market analysis to create ideas and recommendations that may involve changes to the company’s operating practices and market focus.Leads and administrates team meetings and drafts communications of project status based on pre-defined templates to executive leaders.Collaborate with corporate teams to ensure Newbuild is working towards the corporate vision and strategy on specific initiatives and projects.Develops processing methods and practices for communicating project status to extended teams and executive management.Performs other duties as required.Financial ResponsibilitiesOversees creation and management of small to medium size project budgets with oversight by Managers for projects under their supervision.Works with Supply Chain Management to negotiate contract terms and cost savings with vendors as required.Solid understanding of accounting rules for expense and capital activities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with little to no guidance.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.B.S. degree with a concentration in Business Administration or Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline (Management Science, Industrial Engineering).2-4 years of relevant analytical work experience required. Experience in a management consulting firm or relevant strategic function at a corporation is preferred.Knowledge And SkillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) required.Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, and capital markets.Understanding of microeconomic and macroeconomic principles is preferred.Highly advanced communication skills (written and verbal).Strong analytical skills and can think strategically about the cruise/hospitality business.High energy and sense of urgency required.Ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure.Willingness to work hard and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.Superior leadership abilitiesStrong business acumen, communication, and interpersonal skillsHighly motivated to achieve desired goals and objectives.Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex business problems.Must be willing to reside in South Florida.Language RequirementsAbility to read, analyze and interpret contracts, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.Ability to clearly and effectively present information to top management, customers and vendors.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those requirements employees must meet to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, and operate a pc.The employee communicates, listens, compares variables, and assesses information.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.The employee regularly moves about the office complex, and may climb,descend, lift or move 10 pounds.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.The environment includes office location, and/or moving inside/outside the office.A high noise level is possible if visiting shipboard, dry dock, newbuilding or offsite locations.Personal protective equipment will be provided as needed in these situations.We know there's a lot to consider.
