We are seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. As an RVT, you will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians and leading the support staff in providing high-quality and compassionate care to animals. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about animal health by utilizing conventional and integrative medicine techniques to improve our patients' lives. The ideal candidate will be open to learning and teaching new techniques to help enhance our passion for the best care we can provide to our patients.
_*Responsibilities:*_
- Induce anesthesia for dental and surgical procedures
- Accurately calculate and administer medications for anesthetic or sedated procedures in multiple species
- Handle animals safely and compassionately
- Facilitate patient care based on Veterinarian instruction
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and treatment plans
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results
- Provide support in veterinary critical care situations
- Recognize and identify abnormalities in patient vital sign parameters
- Be able to utilize critical thinking and analytical skills to troubleshoot and address urgent situations.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
_*Experience:*_
- Previous experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician is preferred
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician license (CaRVT) in good standing is required
- Proficiency in gentle handling and Fear Free techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures
- Previous medical experience for exotic species, a plus
- Accurately filling medications

- Strong understanding of veterinary technician duties
- Ability to effectively triage critical and urgent situations
- Proficiency in dental terminology for veterinary procedures
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practice
- Venipuncture (lab collection, IVC placement)
- Identify drug interactions and knowledge of pharmacokinetics
- Medical math
- Proficiency in sterile technique and prep
- Effective multi-tasking
- Understanding of microbiology
