Position Overview:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits advanced critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in preparing for and delivering patient care in the surgical environment.
As an integral member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Operating Room Technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage surgical supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Ensure timely preparation and execution of surgical cases.
- Communicate effectively with patients' families.
- Maintain and update physician preference cards.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by scrubbing in and providing necessary support.
- Supervise and guide personnel involved in patient care.
Qualifications:
Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required.
Schedule:
Operating Room Circulator, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities as needed.
