NDFB President Daryl Lies Will Not Seek Re-electionBismarck, N.D. – NDFB President Daryl Lies issued the following statement today regarding his decision not to seek re-election this fall at the NDFB Annual Meeting.“There comes a time when change is right. Change is not always easy and not always welcomed with open arms in our lives. People sometimes have a hard time accepting, making, or engaging in change, but I believe the time is right for change to happen at the leadership level of NDFB. That is why I will not seek re-election as president of this great organization.“Making this decision did not come easily for me. Serving the membership of NDFB and representing the best farmers and ranchers in the world has been one of the greatest privileges I have ever had. Through the election process, members placed their trust in me to be the spokesman of our organization for the past 10 years.“I never took this position lightly and hope people recognize the passion I have for agriculture and for NDFB and its members Being in leadership positions and representing all areas of agriculture doesn’t come without challenges, debate, and hard decisions. Over the last 10 years, I believe we have been where we need to be and doing what we had to do for the membership and for everyone’s God-given rights and freedoms, which are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, especially private property rights.“NDFB – including staff, county leaders, and every one of our members – will always have a special place in my heart and mind. I will never forget all the relationships I have been able to forge by representing the most effective ag organization, NDFB“It is time to pass the torch to a new leader with new enthusiasm and passion.
