Job Overview The PrEP Navigator II, Biomedical Program, part of our Infectious Diseases team, provides comprehensive HIV/STI health education, HIV counseling and testing, and facilitates HIV Prevention and PrEP/PEP navigation services to clients at high risk for infection or transmission of HIV. Responsibilities include: Referring clients for ACA enrollment. Navigating clients onto PrEP/PEP services. Scheduling medical appointments for PrEP/PEP. Assisting with Medication Assistance Programs. Conducting program recruitment for PrEP, client intake and assessment, facilitation/mentoring, and coordination of referral services as appropriate. Monitoring and reporting progress toward deliverables. Representing AltaMed by serving on internal and external workgroups, collaborations, and coalitions. Supporting mentoring of other team members. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree in social services or another health‑related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a human services field, with prior HIV prevention or case management services required. Minimum 2 years of experience in Motivational Interviewing and/or demonstrated capacity to deliver client‑centered harm‑reduction counseling is highly desirable. Prior case‑management experience with low‑income, at‑risk populations preferred. Existing certification as a HIV Test Counselor from the Los Angeles Division of HIV and STD Programs, or obtain within 3 months of employment. Valid BLS certification or higher, following AHA or American Red Cross guidelines. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred. Minimum age 21, due to outreach requirements at local venues. Compensation $25.00 – $29.32 hourly. Compensation Disclaimer Actual salary offers depend on budget, experience, skills, education, licensure, certifications, and other business considerations.
