Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join their Boston based Enterprise Business Solutions Team. While this role is ideally based in Boston, other BHSI office locations will be considered for the right candidate. We are seeking an experienced candidate who has successfully led cross-functional, global, complex projects within the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry. This newly created role is accountable for end-to-end oversight of strategic digital transformation initiatives, including the technical design, development, and successful deployment of applications. The team member will be engaged in all facets of strategic projects from solution definition, ROI, process impact analysis, design, development, testing, and migration working closely with the offshore project teams and BHSI business stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of complex cross functional projects that span one or multiple regions and P&C lines of business.

Participate in establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature team capabilities.

Work directly with BHSI and offshore technical teams to validate that projects meet BHSI security, infrastructure, and architectural requirements.

Provide leadership to project teams to ensure that all projects align with the BHSI digital roadmap and long-term vision are delivered on time and within budget.

Document and understand technical dependencies for each project to support an end-to-end integrated environment.

Understand, align, and mitigate interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.

Facilitate sessions with Product Managers, internal and external stakeholders to analyze business and user needs and to deliver necessary artifacts (use cases, user stories, functional requirements specifications, UI designs, mockups, workflows etc.).

Review and approve status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.

Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address company goals while maintaining alignment with P&C insurance industry best practices.

Participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.

Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution.

Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise offshore project and program teams.

Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Proactively identify opportunities to optimize processes and tools.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 10+ years experience with Property & Casualty or other Insurance domain.

15+ years of project management experience, PMP certification preferred.

15+ years of experience leading cross-functional project teams.

10+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle.

Technical acumen with a focus on Microsoft Azure and PaaS capabilities.

Familiarity with developing and maintaining applications using .NET framework.

Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems and identifying priorities.

Strong experience in SDLC methodologies.

Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.

Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.

Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results.

Experience leading, motivating, and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
