You will be the Chief Fundraising Officer (CFO) of the CTRL Foundation — a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that is launching a brand-new social media platform called Gides. We will be the world's first socially-responsible media — optimized not for engagement, but for human flourishing. I conceived of the CTRL Foundation after the prototype for Gides was complete. Someone who passionately believes it is possible to make a difference and bring about a healthier social media ecosystem than the status quo. There is no sense taking this job if you don't believe we can actually create change. What You Will Be Doing Develop and execute a multi-channel fundraising strategy encompassing major gifts, private foundations, family offices, high-net-worth donors, and mission-aligned corporate partners. Identify, research, and prioritize funding targets who align philosophically with CTRL’s human-flourishing mission (libertarian, pro-innovation, and humane-tech donors). Build and manage a fundraising pipeline—from initial outreach to cultivation, proposal drafting, negotiation, and stewardship. Create and manage crowdfunding initiatives, utilizing sites like GoFundMe and GiveSendGo to engage the broader public. Craft grant proposals and donor presentations that translate complex philosophical and technical ideas (e.g., narrative cognition, platform ethics) into fundable language. Coordinate philanthropic partnerships with like-minded think tanks, academic institutions, and nonprofits (Cato, Heritage, Sorenson, Templeton, etc.). Secure startup-style catalytic funding to raise money that will be used to support the early-stage development and release of Gides. Develop recurring revenue programs such as annual funds, donor circles, and endowment campaigns for long-term stability. Compensation Initially, commission-based compensation with transition to salary + commission. Equity grants for performance milestones (see below). BONUS EQUITY Gides (the social media platform) is a corporation. The CTRL Foundation (a 501c3 nonprofit) provides initial funding and long-term governance over the corp. As such, equity (shares of stock) in Gides are available if you are able to meet performance-based goals. Your Location We're headquartered in SLC, so we're ideally looking for a Utah/Idaho-based resource. On a case-by-case basis I am willing to consider someone who is not local. Remote work is acceptable, but regular face-to-face meetings are expected.
