Overview Directs, administers, and coordinates all operational functions for a designated geographic market working in close collaboration with the COO. Responsibilities include but are not limited to development of market strategies and business initiatives, network development and practice management for primary care and multi-specialty groups, physician contracting and negotiation, mergers and acquisitions, and physician relations. Works closely with the leadership team, Baptist market leader, hospital administration, physicians, and practice managers to ensure alignment with the overall BMMG market strategy. Responsibilities Operationalize strategic direction for a designated market to ensure goals and objectives align with market and corporate initiatives, collaborating with the COO, BMMG leadership, market leadership, and physician constituencies to maximize provider relationships and network development. Develop, recommend, and implement the annual operating plans and programs necessary to meet strategic direction set by the BMMG CEO, COO, and CFO. Provide daily operational oversight for all facets of clinic business management, including compliance, budgets, risk management, privacy and security, human resources, physician relations, and patient satisfaction. Manage direct reports to ensure adequate orientation, training, education, performance assessment, issue resolution, and ongoing support to successfully manage individual clinic sites. Implement human resources policies, procedures, programs, and practices within each clinic setting in collaboration with corporate and BMMG human resources, ensuring legal compliance with applicable regulatory agencies. Facilitate and actively participate in mergers and acquisition activities to expand BMMG operational services and capabilities within the designated geographic market. Design and implement work and system processes, administer best practices within each physician clinic, and collaborate with the COO and CFO to develop financial goals and reporting systems that evaluate utilization, resource needs, productivity measures, and skill mix for quality outcomes and cost efficiency. Coordinate the negotiation, execution, and implementation of physician/provider contracts and other affiliated business arrangements when appropriate. Apply practice management strategies and services to identify business opportunities, enhance partnerships/relationships, expand or retain market position, and maximize service delivery in close coordination with the practice management team and hospital operations. Perform other accountabilities as assigned or directed. Minimum Required Experience Five (5) years of progressive, outcome‑oriented management experience in a medium multi‑specialty group practice, including at least three (3) years in practice management and operations, contracting, and medical staff relations. Minimum Required Education Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Care Administration, a related field, or related medical group practice experience. Preferred/Desired Education Master’s degree. Minimum Required Skills Extensive knowledge of health care issues, trends, legal compliance, and group practice management/network development models. Preferred/Desired Skills Additional expertise in health care management or related fields.
