Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $215,000.00/yr Position Summary GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high-performance, low-maintenance, zero‑downtime platforms and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement. Position Description As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will be a key member of the engineering team, collaborating across the organization to design and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions to complex problems. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, leveraging automation, and ensuring efficient data management. In a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will plan, prioritize, and execute large-scale projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering practices. Position Responsibilities Design and develop scalable, resilient distributed systems. Define product requirements and collaborate with stakeholders. Collaborate across teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Lead design sessions, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers. Create reusable application components and patterns. Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications, including front-end features using ReactJS and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks), backend services with .NET or Java, and efficient data management using SQL and NoSQL databases. API and Microservices: develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices. DevOps Practices: utilize CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes). Publish and maintain documentation and runbooks. Provide support for critical systems, including 24x7 on-call support when necessary. Experience 5+ years of professional software development experience in large-scale enterprise environments. 3+ years of experience with ReactJS and its core principles. 4+ years with backend technologies (.NET or Java). 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Experience with RESTful services and APIs. Experience with open-source frameworks and tools. Hands‑on experience designing and architecting scalable systems. Qualifications Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+). Expertise in ReactJS and its ecosystem. Experience with backend frameworks such as Java, ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot. Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design principles. Ability to work with nested data structures like JSON, XML, YAML. Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, or PowerShell is a plus. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Annual Salary $75,000.00 - $215,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
