We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.The Android Native Tools and Libraries team provides robust and performant foundational tools for C/C++ and Rust developers across the Android ecosystem. We are responsible for the development and maintenance of the Clang and Rust toolchains, the Bionic C library, and the Scudo memory allocator. Our purview also extends to the dynamic linker and essential system libraries like libunwindstack and debuggerd, alongside profiling tools such as simpleperf.These tools are paramount for ensuring optimal performance, enhancing security, and enabling a wide array of Systems features within Android. By building and maintaining these core components, we directly impact other crucial areas of the stack, including field tracing and telemetry, and facilitate in-depth system health investigations.Android is Google’s mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
