Staff Software Engineer, Android Systems Mountain View, CA, USA Advanced Experience owning outcomes and decision making, solving ambiguous problems and influencing stakeholders; deep expertise in domain. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience in low level systems programming languages (e.g., C++ or C). 3 years of experience with Android application development. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with operating systems, computer architecture, embedded systems, and the Linux/Unix kernel. Experience coding in Rust. Experience with system software in areas such as ARM/ARM64 architecture, compilers, firmware, operating systems, Linux kernel, file systems/storage, device drivers, performance tuning, networking, tools, tests, virtualization, platform libraries. Experience developing and designing large software systems. Responsibilities Work on core system components including Memory Management, Scheduling, Power, Storage, Virtualization, Networking. Create and ship Generic Kernel Image for billions of devices. Scale development across a growing number of verticals (e.g., Wear, Auto, TV, large screen, etc.). Contribute to various open source projects, such as Linux Kernel, STG, AOSP, LLVM, LTP. Create and maintain a reliable, secure foundation for the Android software ecosystem. Salary and Benefits The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
