Join to apply for the Principal Engineer Mechanical (Lead) role at Zachry Group2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Principal Engineer Mechanical (Lead) role at Zachry GroupServe as a Mechanical Lead on a EPC power Project.Provide strong leadership to drive mechanical technical design and project coordination.Manage Project Schedules and Budgets as well as provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.Prepare and maintain resource plans.Prepare equipment inquiry/RFQ packages.Perform equipment technical bid evaluations and prepare recommendations.Review equipment vendor documents for compliance to project specifications and industry standards.Develop job notes and technical scopes of work.Perform field walk downs to collect information required to complete work.Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals.Attend Client, Vendor, and Internal Team meetings.Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.May supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers or designers on assigned work.As a Licensed Professional Engineer, seals and signs all documentation produced by own work. May also seal and sign work done by engineers under direct supervision.Other duties as assignedRequirementsRESPONSIBILITIESBachelor’s degree in a mechanical, or related engineering discipline15+ minimum years of experience in the Power, Diversified, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Oil and Energy, Chemical IndustryStrong background in heat exchangers, pumps, ASME pressure vessels, and ASME piping codeExperience in the specification Power Plant Equipment Including CTGs, STGs, HRSGsKnowledge of the ASME Codes for pressure vessels and piping systemsKnowledge of EPC project execution modelMust maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortiumFull and ongoing compliance with and adherence to all vaccination requirements, as may be established by the company from time to time or by or for a particular job site.Preferred QualificationsLicensed Professional EngineerExperience as the Mechanical Lead on an EPC Cobmined Cycle Power Plant designPHYSICAL DEMANDSEmployee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.WORK ENVIRONMENTEmployee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.The above description covers the fundamental responsibilities of the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer position.
