As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be key in ensuring our faculty, students, and staff have the seamless technological resources necessary to drive growth, learning, and discovery across all divisions.Purpose StatementThe San Domenico School technology department supports integrating technology in learning and operations as part of our commitment to preparing the next generation of global leaders. With a 1:1 iPad program in grades K – 8 and 1:1 laptops in 9-12 , San Domenico School's technology department is an energizing place to work and grow in educational technology. The Technology Support Specialist promotes the mission by supporting students, faculty, parents, and staff in their integration of technology into their work and studies. The Technology Support Specialist installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains iPads, Mac OS and Windows desktops and laptops, other peripherals, software, and classroom audio-visual equipment. The Technology Support Specialist is a non-exempt position and reports to the Director of Information Technology.Responsibilities of a Technical Support SpecialistSet up, maintain and troubleshoot iPads and other iOS devices; Mac OS and Windows desktop and notebook computersInstall and configure softwareSet up and configure printers, scanners and other peripheralsDocument issue status and resolution using a help desk ticketing systemMaintain excellent communications with members of the department, and all end users Maintain and troubleshoot classroom audio-visual equipmentWork with outside vendors as neededMaintain inventory and other databasesExecute other assigned tasksPerform related duties as assigned by supervisorMaintain compliance with all company policies and proceduresRequired Qualifications/Educational Background and/or ExperienceClearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical peopleRecognize, analyze, and solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry standard best practicesMulti-task in a fast-paced environmentKnow when to seek help for difficult issues from the Director of Information Technology2+ years setup, configuration, troubleshooting of desktop/notebook hardware and software (Windows or Mac OS)Experience supporting Windows and Mac OS desktops and notebooks in a networked environmentMicrosoft Office, Apple iLife, iOS Apps, and other desktop and web applicationsExperience working in a structured, process-driven environmentKnowledge of TCP/IP and related network services (DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.) Knowledge of Active Directory concepts and administrationExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersExcellent computer proficiency (iPad, Mac computer, Gmail/Google Drive, MS Office – Word, Excel)Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience or exposure working in an academic environmentiOS Troubleshooting experienceWireless networking experienceVOIP phone system experienceCompensationThis is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary range for this role is $70,000–$83,000 annually, with placement within the range determined by the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
