Position Summary:The Soil Production employee performs tasks involved in receiving and preparation of soiled healthcare linens for the laundering process. The Soil Production employee follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. The employee in this role must exhibit accountability and flexibility in a fast paced, goal oriented, strenuous production environment.Physical requirements include repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift including; repeated bending, stretching, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling and lifting as well as excessive standing. Work days are typically 5 day workweeks, Monday through Saturday. Work hours may be adjusted due to workloads.The hours are Monday-Friday 5 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.Essential Duties and Other Responsibilities:Under general supervision follow processes, work rules, and policies that are in place to meet strict safety, quality and production goals.Operate machinery in a safe-responsible manner.Wear required personal protective equipment provided (protective gloves, barrier gown/lab-type coat) when in soil area.Meet or exceed current production standards.Maintain positive and professional attitude.Exhibit respect towards management and co-workers.Notify Supervisor, in a timely manner, of any safety, mechanical or material issues.Housekeeping and adherence to health and safety standards.Must exhibit accountability and flexibility.Other duties as assigned.Must report to work on a timely basis and maintain attendance in accordance with Superior Linen's policies.Core Competencies: Dependability: - Capable of being depended upon; reliable, consistent, worthy of trust.A dependable employee not only shows up for work on time every day but also produces a consistent quality of work, and can apply company policies and business strategies evenly to each task and assignment.Teamwork: - Working as a productive member of a cohesive group toward a common goal, and contributing to team development and effective team dynamics.Quality Orientation - Setting high standards regarding his/her work and working environment and acting accordingly; developing quality standards, continuously evaluating performance, products, and procedures; actively seeking ways to improve quality.Education, Training, Experience and Licenses Required:RequiredHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.Previous experience in a production environment desired.Must ensure the right to work in the U. S.Must be able to communicate effectively both written and oral.Some computer/basic math skills may be required.Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing will be required for this position.Working Conditions:Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:Must be able to stand or walk for a ten-hour shift.Must be able to push/pull linen carts weighing as much as 700 lbs.Must have range of motion in upper extremities to perform all of the duties in this job.Must be able to lift overhead, weights as much as 20lbs.Must be able to bend at the waist to place or retrieve linen bundles at or from floor height.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:Moderate noise levels.Moderate temperatures with the exception of the summer months when the temperature may exceed 110 degrees for extended periods.
