Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus Direct message the job poster from Peterson Consulting Group VP of Operations – Heavy Civil Construction/Public Works Salt Lake City, UT $180K–$230K DOE + Executive Bonus | Full-Time | President-Track A fast-growing Utah heavy civil contractor is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead roadway, underground utility, and municipal infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced operations professional with strong UDOT and city/municipality expertise. About the Role The VP of Operations will oversee all field operations, PMs, Superintendents, and project performance across road reconstruction, utility relocation, and high-traffic municipal work. This leader will streamline processes, strengthen client relationships, and help scale the company toward its next phase of growth. Key Responsibilities Lead roadway, civil, and municipal projects (UDOT + city). Oversee PMs, Superintendents, scheduling, budgets, and cost control. Support estimating (Bid2Win) and review bids for accuracy/constructability. Drive safety culture and ensure compliance across all operations. Strengthen systems, processes, and team performance. Represent the company with clients, municipalities, and inspectors. Support long‑term strategy with a path toward President-level leadership. Qualifications 12+ years in heavy civil construction operations. Strong background in UDOT and municipal roadway work. Experience leading PMs, Superintendents, and field teams. Expertise in road reconstruction, underground utilities, and urban, high-traffic environments. Excellent communicator with strong client‑facing presence.
