Warehouse Lead

Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is proud to have celebrated 33 years in the food industry. Located in Chicago's historic Stockyards, CMA is a forward thinking processor of value added beef, pork, and poultry items with a strong focus on selling the Healthcare, Hotel, and Institutional Markets (HRI), meat purveyors, and Multi-unit regional and national chains up to and including big box stores. In addition, CMA specializes in custom cuts for further processors including but not limited to grinding operations, deli manufacturers, and the prepared entre market.
CMA is seeking a Warehouse Lead that is highly motivated and detail-oriented. This individual will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet, or exceed, company, customer, and regulatory expectations. This person will be an active participant of a team that believes in providing our customers with a product of the highest quality and safety.
What You Get To Do
Work with the supervisor to coordinate daily and weekly product movement both in and out of the plant, utilizing FIFO, and organize cycle counts in order to verify freezer inventory.
Manage truck parking on the docks to expedite loading and unloading.
Ensure all staff are aware and understand they are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those that can initiate action.
Follow any special instructions on all outbound orders.
Provide directions and training to team members to achieve efficient and accurate responsibilities related to material handling.
Proactively present issues with proposed solutions.
Adhere to all CMA policies and procedures.
Coordinate with other departments and comply with any direction given by management.
Ensure that storage and freezer areas are kept clean.
Utilize all reports associated with material handling activities.
Monitor all KPI's to ensure efficiency in material handling.
Operate the stand-up forklift safely.
Any and all other duties as assigned.
What We Want From You
Enforce all CMA policies and procedures to protect all employees and company property including tools, equipment, raw materials and finished products.
Assist in the development of procedures, programs and policies that will ensure the highest level of efficiency and productivity (Ex: First In-First Out).
Ensure effective and accurate reporting.
3+ years of stand-up forklift and warehouse experience.
Ability to work overtime (including some Saturdays).
Ability to continually work safely.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and push up to 80 pounds.
Prior lead experience preferred.
Meat processing and/or refrigerated manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to use scanner efficiently and accurately.
