We're seeking qualified metro DC area public relations candidates to join our leading industry financial services public relations department. The ideal applicant will have previous public relations agency-based financial services internship or work experience with clients in the corporate and financial services B2B and B2C sector (fintech, investing, crypto, banking, and payments); have a college degree in PR, Communications, or Journalism; have excellent writing skills; and be ready for immediate hire for this full-time position. Our financial services public relations team is one of the best in the industry. Responsibilities:
  • Compile comprehensive, targeted media lists, actively pitch media and secure earned media coverage
  • Write, proof and edit client-related documents including pitches, press materials, news releases, other editorial content
  • Supporting client media briefings, events, speaking opportunities and developing award submissions
  • Monitor, track and report earned, owned and social media coverage of client news and competitor developments
  • Research industry or program-relevant topics efficiently
  • Participating in client meetings, develop agendas, managing trackers and drafting meeting reports
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, or journalism.
  • Prior work experience or PR internships in public relations role (PR agency-based client-based experience is strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced through completed college coursework, internships, or related work experience.
  • Interest and desire to work in public relations with corporate and financial services B2B and B2C clients.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Experience with research and measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is preferred but optional.

Anticipated Salary: $23.00/hour to $24.00/hour for this full-time, non-exempt, direct hire position. Is commensurate with experience and dependent upon the location.
