Job Overview

The OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Engineering Manager, is responsible for building and leading a highly effective team of mechanical engineers, and working with departmental contacts to support the demands of the department and meet the objectives of product continuity and processes. The engineering manager is responsible for the professional development of their reports and is the subject matter expert for the product features they are involved in.

This role reports to the facilities General Manager.

Job Description and Requirements

Focus on Product Delivery

Contributes to the product roadmap and uses it to bring purpose to the team and their backlog

  • Develop deep product knowledge within their team’s area of ownership
  • Accountability behind the features and products of our OEM customers
  • Deliver results, within time and scope, and brings visibility through regular reporting
  • Has effective ability to scope and drive features and products, delivering updates


Promotes Personal Development

  • The OEM Engineering Manager, is responsible for the professional development of their team under them and is the subject matter expert for the product features they are involved in
  • He or she will work collaboratively with their team to identify and develop the talents of each individual team member


Aligns Goals with Strategy

  • Serve as technology advisor to the business on all aspects of technology trends and novel solutions specific to their respective domain or feature set
  • Be innovative. Think outside the box when crafting solutions and considering impact
  • Exercises a significant latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
  • Use long term strategic thinking to guide and develop your team to help them meet overall product goals
  • Be a subject matter expert in your area of the product lines
  • Stay on the top of the latest technological progress and use this knowledge to ensure company deliverables remain marketable and competitive


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related disciplines or equivalent experience. Operations Management is a plus
  • Strong verbal, presentation, and written communications skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • In depth knowledge of agile product development methodologies
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
  • Strong Leadership skills, ability to perform under the pressure and optimize the team's resources to attain the business goals
  • Strong teamwork and partnering skills for cross-group collaboration
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering discipline. 3-D modeling knowledge required.
  • 10+ years of Leadership experience needed
  • 4+ years of professional management experience, with project management required

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary,

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

$100,000 and $130,000

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
