Job Description

Teledyne Princeton Instruments, a business unit of Teledyne Digital Imaging US, Inc, designs and manufactures high-performance CCD, sCMOS, ICCD, EMCCD, emICCD, and InGaAs cameras; spectrographs; and optics-based solutions for the scientific research, industrial imaging, and OEM communities. We are looking to hire an Electronic Assembly Technician to assemble, rework and calibrate electronics equipment in our Trenton, NJ office.

Primary responsibilities
  • Fabricate, build, and modify equipment and subassemblies working from assembly drawings, schematics, wire prints, procedures, and verbal instructions.
  • Install components and parts on chassis, circuit boards, and other units using power tools, hand tools and various soldering equipment.
  • Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connect assembly with power supply sources.
  • Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
  • Inspect and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, assembly drawings and Customers order requirements.
  • Interpret instructions and follow procedures to determine component parts and assembly sequences of Electromechanical units.
  • Uses procedures to perform varied tasks of intermediate complexity.
  • Assemble parts list.
  • Utilize the ERP system to order parts if needed.
  • Perform visual inspections and measurements of parts and subassemblies to ensure all specifications are met.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma is required; an associate degree in electronics is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a complex electromechanical assembly manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in through-hole soldering, surface mount soldering and wiring in accordance with J-STD-001.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Familiar with hand tools such as soldering iron, screwdrivers, wrenches, cutters, wire strippers, etc.
  • Use caliper, micrometer, multimeter, microscope.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Work in clean room environment.
  • Experience with high vacuum systems is a plus.
  • ERP administration experience is a plus.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English required.
