About Population Connection

Founded in 1968 and based in Washington, DC, Population Connection and its sister organization, Population Connection Action Fund, are the national grassroots organizations seeking to end rapid global population growth. Rapid population growth harms and endangers the lives of people around the world and contributes to climate change, over-consumption of natural resources, biodiversity loss, and a host of other environmental problems.

To achieve a sustainable balance between people and our planet, the two organizations advocate at the highest levels of government for universal, affordable access to modern contraceptives and reproductive health care. Meanwhile, our Population Education program trains more than 10,000 teachers and reaches three million K-12 students annually to help young people understand how population growth impacts our environment and human well-being.

We have experienced a period of growth over the past few years, thanks to increased investment from donors, a loyal membership base of 40,000, and a well-established planned giving program. The PGO will serve an important role in managing our planned giving program and deepening relationships with members of our ZPG Society to help achieve organizational goals.

Planned Giving Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship
