Human Resources Assistant

Position Summary

This Position will be working at Monogram Quality Foods in Denison, Iowa. The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for several administrative and tactical duties supporting HR and Plant Operations. These duties are primarily focused on day-to-day operations supporting the documentation of employment, reporting plant & HR metrics, working in support of traditional human resource service functions, and serving as the front office ambassador for the visiting public.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department, providing administrative support with a variety of duties, including HRIS entries, record keeping, and employee records administration.
  2. Maintain employee records, time and attendance, and regular filing activities.
  3. Maintenance of employee data into the HRIS and payroll systems.
  4. Assist with payroll processing on a weekly and biweekly basis and serves as the primary backup for completing weekly/bi-weekly payroll.
  5. Supports the candidate interview process, pre-employment, new hire orientation, and onboarding.
  6. Assists in annual benefits open enrollment along with Team Member benefits questions or requested changes.
  7. Assists in Employee Engagement activities, regularly providing support with planning and execution of these events.
  8. Supports HR team members and Operations Management team with HR-related inquiries.
  9. Serves as the "face of Monogram-Denison" by being the first person to greet at the front office, providing directional support for inquiries and visits.
  10. Conducts all front desk duties, including answering phones, and notifications, directing visitors, and providing Team Member support at the HR kiosks.
  11. Other duties as needed.

Completes and distributes various HR and Operations reports daily and weekly.

Qualifications and Experience
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
    • High school diploma or GED is required.
    • Bachelor's degree or associate's degree in Human Resources Management/Administration/related field or equivalent experience would be preferred but not required.
    • Strong organization and planning skills with a service-minded approach.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills providing an interaction with others that is pleasant and helpful.
    • Ability to take work direction and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
    • Experience in operating computers, filing, and maintaining filing systems.
    • Experience in manufacturing plant with payroll responsibilities preferred.
    • Experience in human resources practices preferred.
    • Ability to exercise poise, tactfulness, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Able to quickly learn and adapt to HRIS systems and web-based applications - technologically savvy.
