Must be able to demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspectionExperience:Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent educational credentialFive years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanicWelding experienceMust have a Valid Driver's License/DOT Medical Card, Hoisting License. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferredKnowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, and pneumatic systems as it pertains to the operation and maintenance of roadway machineryKey Accountabilities:Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)Troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs to all types of equipment components including gas and diesel engines, transmissions and differentials, hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, various work heads, booms, electrical systems, and conveyor belt systemSolve work related problems, make decisions, and provide instructions Understand mechanical operations of machineryDrive heavy duty service truck, including truck mounted craneOther duties as assigned during emergenciesOther Requirements:Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background checkEffort Factors:Physical/Mental Demands:Heavy work, lifting to 50 pounds individually or occasionally up to 100 pounds with a coworker.Must be able to stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis.Working Conditions:Shift Work: work hours may include overtime, and various shift work.Involves working outside in all types of weather conditions year-round as assigned.Additional Statements Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
